Tea This Week — September 21, 2026
Deals
Checked this week (all seen on 2026-09-21, directly on each shop’s own site).
Two things changed. The Tea Drunk Da Hong Pao we have been flagging for two weeks has sold out, and Yunnan Sourcing’s black-tea clearance lost one item. Everything else is exactly where it was.
Tea Drunk — the Da Hong Pao sale is over
Da Hong Pao (Great Red Robe) 大紅袍, Spring 2019 is now sold out in all four options — both the Spring 2019 and Spring 2019 II lots, packet and box. The discounted prices ($23 and $55) are still displayed on the page, but nothing is buyable. If you were waiting on this one, that decision has been made for you. Tea Drunk has no other markdowns.
Yunnan Sourcing US — black-tea clearance, week three
The On Sale Now page is still all black tea (红茶) and still the best standing discount of the eight shops we track. Prices are unchanged from last week; the Zheng Shan Xiao Zhong of Wu Yi that was on the list has come off it. Eleven items remain.
| Tea | Size | Was | Now |
|---|---|---|---|
| Imperial Grade Jin Jun Mei, Tong Mu Guan | 50 g | $14.75 | $11.00 |
| Wu Yi “Golden Peony Varietal” | 50 g | $14.00 | $12.00 |
| Feng Qing “Classic 58” Dian Hong | 100 g | $13.00 | $10.00 |
| Purple Needle Black Tea, Jing Mai | 100 g | $13.00 | $11.00 |
| Yi Wu Wild Arbor Assamica | 50 g | $11.75 | $10.00 |
| Feng Qing “Golden Pekoe #100” | 50 g | $11.50 | $9.50 |
| Tong Mu “Hua Xiang” Zheng Shan Xiao Zhong | 25 g | $9.75 | $8.25 |
| Imperial Yixing Hong | 25 g | $7.50 | $5.00 |
Plus three discounted samplers — still the sensible way in if you do not already know which of these styles you like: Robust Yunnan Black Tea Sampler $52 → $42, Purple Tea Sampler $47.25 → $39, and Lincang Dian Hong Sampler $44.75 → $36.
Two offers still stack on top of the sale prices: free gifts and BOGO in five tiers starting at $45, and free US shipping on $75+ . The fine print that trips people up is on the BOGO page itself: “You must add the BOGO item to your cart for the code to work!”
Not on sale, but worth knowing
Seven Cups has its 2026 harvest landing steadily. New on the shelf since last week are Bai Ji Guan (White Rooster Crest) 2026 rock oolong and Baihao Yinzhen (Silver Needle) 2026 organic white, alongside the 2026 Anxi Tieguanyin range and several 2026 Dan Cong micro-lots — Ye Lai Xiang $35.00, Dongfang Hong $46.00, Fanshu Xiang from $20.00, Jianghua Xiang from $28.00. One caution on their store layout: the “Limited Offers” and “Weekend Specials” headings are category names, not price cuts — we checked the products underneath and none are discounted.
Old Ways Tea repeats the same line for a third week: “2026 harvest is complete — black teas should arrive soon and oolong teas later in the year.” No sale, nothing new.
Everyone else
Red Blossom (154 products) and White2Tea (750 products) each carry zero markdowns this week — we checked every listing, not just the sale pages. Red Blossom’s standing free shipping on US orders $100+ is unchanged. TeaVivre and Verdant Tea blocked automated access for a third straight week; if either is on your list, check them by hand.
Events
Everything below is in the NYC metro area. We found no dated online-attendable Chinese tea event this week — the recurring virtual tastings we could find do not publish a schedule.

Booking further out
- Chinese Tea Tasting: Premium Oolong Teas — the date moved: it is now Sunday, October 4, 11:00 AM–1:00 PM, not the Tuesday October 6 we listed last week. Same venue, 89 5th Ave Suite 701, Manhattan; $45–$55. A gongfu flight of three oolongs side by side, which is the fastest way to hear what “oolong” actually covers.
- Community Engagement Tea — Saturday, October 10, 1:00–3:00 PM, Harlem Rose Garden, 6 East 129th Street, Manhattan. Free.
- Autumn Fundraising Party — Saturday, October 24, 7:00–9:30 PM, Park Slope, Brooklyn. Ticketed through the Tea Arts and Culture events page; price not yet posted. New on the calendar this week.
- Chinese Tea Ceremony Workshop: Brewing Fenghuang Dancong with Gaiwan — Sunday, November 8, 11:00 AM–1:00 PM, 89 5th Ave Suite 701, Manhattan. $55–$65. Still the pick of the Teasthetic sessions for an amateur, because most of the two hours is you brewing rather than watching.
